    Default Skie digi dish alignment

Just moved house and set my dish up pointing the same direction as other houses dishes. The picture is just ok, is there any simple way to more accurately point the dish or is there a cheap strength meter available so I can point the dish without having to check the signal strength on the digibox menus after each tiny movement. (takes ages)

Default how to fit a 28 d/g dish with out a meter

the easyest way to fit a dish is make shure you fit the dish near to a window, set up tv and satellite receiver in the room so that when you are at the dish you can see the tv screen from where you are, switch on tv and receiver put tv on to satellite chanell go to menu 4 nomber 6 this will give you signal strength and quility and move dish slowlly, if you get signal strength but no quility then you are proberly on the wrong satellite move dish untill both meter bars start to move just move dish untill signal quility peaks but please dont stand infront of dish while you are trying to line it up, when you have peaked it and you are happy with it move tv and satellite receiver down stairs in to the living room, sling coax back out the window and fasten to wall and take in to the living room and reconect make shure dish is fastened up and dont forget to seal the lnb where the coax joins on to it with ammalgamating tape not electritions tape easy

or just run a normal ariel coax from the digibox to a 14" tv nearest the dish to save moving stb and satelite coax

get the meter up using the menu options then slowly move dish waiting about 10 seconds between each movement

The best way to do it is with two people . One turns the dish the other shouts out the window how strong the signal is showing that way it only takes a minute or two. I always use ITV to confirm the picture quality afterwards cos if thats working fine then all others will be fine as its on the week beam.
