Hey there,
I have recently gone over to Broadband with a home network and am downloading loads of mp3s onto my crappy little computer in my bedroom (the nice one sits downstairs in pride of place). It's only got an old 330 MHz AMD K6-2 with about ninety-something in the way of RAM. My problem is that I don't have a good program for playing/organising all my mp3s.
I did have realOne player, but it takes about 1-2 mins for it to load up and shut down which is pretty frustrating, and if I try and do anything else like open up a web page whilst listening to any tracks they start to skip and stutter madly. I recently downloaded a nice little player called Quintessential which seems to use up a lot less resources and allows me to do other stuff whilst listening to my mp3s without it screwing up playback. However, it keeps on crashing and sometimes takes my computer down with it.
So, does anybody know of any good mp3/general audio playin software which allows things like playlists but which doesn't require much juice to run. Personal recommendations are always the best way to go with this kind of thing, so please tell me what you reckon.
Many thanks in advance,
Lizardo.
