Nope but the DVDR plays a treat.
Yeah, but I ripped the mpeg first before sending it to the hd.
blah blah blah = blah^3
Yeah it's taken me 4 days of virgin mpeg ripping, encoding, decoding, etc but I finally have it in 4 chapters on a DVD-R. Pop the disc in the Xbox and it plays perfectly.Originally posted by fe_man2000

Just gotta burn it again now so that it boots in normal dvd players. (I'll try Nero without the 'Force Xbox Video mode'box checked).
Nice going mate - thats a good job converting it but actually I was talking about the DVDR version - surely you could have download 4 gig in the time it took to convert it ?

I managed to get the svcd version before the DVDR one. Typical! It's all good practice for me though.

Nope but the DVDR plays a treat.and wot nice quality it is too
Is the dvdr the same thing as the screener version being offered at movieshop, widescreen & 5.1 ?
ZX7R,
please how do you ensure that your encoded dvdrs play on the xbox as i have films which conventional dvd players play no problem but the xbox refuses to look at them.
its definately not a media problem and someone suggested it is down to ifoediting the dvdr.
is there a way of converting existing dvdr to play on xbox ?
That's funny as I'm having problems getting it working on normal DVD players!
First of all I'm running the DVD-R on a enigmah chipped xbox with an official dvd kit installed.
1) I got the 4 x SVCD version.
2) Extracted Video and Audio from each (x4)disc/MPEG with TMPEG
3)Converted the audio file to 48K AC3 format using Besweet.
4)Multiplexed each of (x4) audio and video files into a .VOB file using ifoedit.
5)Used Vobedit to join the (x4).VOB files thus creating a new set of VOB files.
6)Used ifoedit and created IFO files for the new 4 VOBs so they are treated as chapters.
7)Burnt on NEO premium discs in latest version of Nero Burning ROM. UDF/ISO mode with 'Force Video Compatibility Mode for Xbox' turned on (although I do not think the tick box is necessary). (Used standard AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder structure)
At the moment the xbox is in NTSC mode using the Enigmah Video Select app.
Pop the disc in and off it plays.
Now when I try and put it in a normal players I just get 'Disc not recognised' or nothing happen at all. Can any of you explain what I may be doing wrong? How do I get it working on normal players?
Anyway, I hopes this helps you.

what happens if you burn your original image using nero with "force xbox compatibility" option switched off or loading/burning the image with prassi?
I think I may of found out what was wrong...
THis time I used IFOedit and corrected VTS sectors. Then burnt the disc using Prassi. I have yet to try it in a normal dvd player.
had major problems playing all dvd-r movies but if i use prassi dvd and burn them in udf format and they all play perfect in the xbox and stand alone dvd players
well I did it with prassi and tried it on a dvd. It only plays about 30 seconds of it and then goes tits up. The pictures is also way off-centre so only a part of it is showing.![]()
