how to format a hard-drive?

i'd like to clean the shit on my old hard drive, im on windows98, whats the best way to format the hard drive?

Go to my computer, select the drive you want to format, right click it and select format.

if you want to format a second hard drive, do the above - if it's the drive with windows on, you'll have to format it from dos. whatever you do - remember to back everything up thoroughly (espescially drivers). It's a mistake you'll only make once

goto www.bootdisk.com and get a win98 boot disk.

boot up on it and type ,

format c: ( or drive letter)

/q after it meks a quick format

/s meks system files move to new formatted drive

then if u reboot still on bootdisk after it'll give u a cd prompt for which to run setup from yer windows disk and start again
