my Alladin V2 modchip doesn't work? (1-wire) tried alot

EDIT: couldn't upload the picture, have to see if I can upload it somewhere...
here is the picture of my modchip:
    http://members.chello.nl/hervas.art/modchip.jpg

first off the modchip is supposed to work, I checked all the soldered points and the wire, they were connected correctly
my xbox still plays original games just fine
when it boots it still show the normal xbox dashboard with Microsoft underneath the word xbox, so it's in retail mode
I burned the Slayers iso 4x on CDRW Nashua, Verbatim and Philips media also burned EvolutionX V1.8.458.iso and evolutionx_beta_v1.8.3285_no_matrix_inside.rar (extracted and burned to root)
I use Nero, DAO finalize disc
I checked just about every tutorial on xbox-scene I searched the forums also checked the forums here, but most postings have questions about using software assuming the bios works
I attached a picture of my modchip and the D0 wire
http://www.plextor.nl/OMBOUWINFO/X-BOX-ALADDIN2.jpg that's a link to the instructions for my modchip on the page from the guys I bought it from
now I have put the xbox hdd in my pc, the pc booted to XP but I can't access it
hm that's quite a story but I wanted to make sure I have done enough searching and trial and error before posting to this forum
    hopefully I didn't forget anything
    my main question is:
should my modchip work, and if so, how can I make the bios work? (it's non-flashable)
if it doesn't work, is it possible it's a fake modchip?
btw I have a V1.1 Xbox with the Seagate HDD the page where I bought it said this one should work on all xboxes, all unsigned/homebrewn stuff should word, eject trick, hdd swap etc. so I think the modchip should be able to run emulators which was my main intention you know nes snes and such
well I really hope this is enough info
    thanks for helping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd redo that link wire m8 after looking at the pics (not that I've seen this chip before) looks like it might be bridging the tracks either side. Try and mask off where you don't want the solder to go with a razor blade or some masking tape to make life a little easier.

hmmmmm........this looks like a cheapmod lpc clone.....if that is the case the link wire should really b on the reverse of the motherboard and not directly connected to the mod itself(but i`m unsure on this aint fitted one of these).........it sounds to me like ur mod isnt workin if u can`t get evox or whatever to boot.......going back to the link wire all it actually does is bypass the m$ bios and boots ur modchip bios that is y i`m a little suspect about the link being directly connected to ur mod ........................hmmmmmm.........can`t really see how it`ll work in this configuration

    any1 else on this ??????

i agree with hookerman there m8, that do wire looks like its covering a few of the tracks, in which case only the original xbox bios will boot, try take off the wire, clean up all the solder, and do as hookerman said and mask off with some tape or somethink to stop the solder bridging the tracks.

    update

    update here:
    http://members.chello.nl/~hervas.art/modchipnew.jpg
I redid the wire on the D0
as you can see from the picture it now absolutely doesn't touch the other bridges
I also check both the solder points and the D0 to see if there's a point where it's shorting (don't remember the good English word for it, like shortwiring) all points are good but still the same problem
btw I checked all points using a multimeter, so that should be sufficient

you could try the alternate do on the underside of the board m8, failing that there is a chance your chip is dodgy, it does happen from time to time people DO get faulty chips m8.

    yes it works!!!!!!

check how simple I did it to test it:
    http://members.chello.nl/~hervas.art/modchipnew2.jpg
I left the D0 wire to the modchip on the motherboard, then, as a test I use simple tape to connect a wire to the point 13/16, as you can see in the picture
now when booting it shows Xecuter2 in stead of Microsoft so that did the trick!!!!!
I think I'll send an email to the shop so they can put the picture as shown in http://www.xgen-mods.com/php/xecutralt.php
( http://www.xgen-mods.com/php/images/xecuteraltpoint.jpg ) on their webpage so other customers won't be confused
you guys have been the greatest help I've received from all sources (irc, xbox-scene forums, webpage)
    thanks again!!!!!

yeah that wire you linked from 13 to 16 is the same as the one you have to do when you install a cheapmod chip.

glad you got it sorted anyway m8

dont it just feel good now after all that despair and frustration
