Yes works on telewest mate, you will need a PIC 12C509 chip available from most elctronic stores, then programme the hex, get diagram for corresponding model and install chip.

You will find everything you need by searching the net.

Only SA8602 VR01 scientific atlanta boxes can be chipped, enabling all channels is a similar process to jerrold.

I have written a detailed tutorial for the Videoway tvn-pal-1-2 analogue decoder, if you want it please let me know and i'll upload it on some webspace.

    just 2 questions !

    - Can the programming for these cable chips etc be carried out using an "ELVIS" if so what software would need to be used with the elvis.

    - A friend has a cube that no longer works, i hear that they can be re-chipped or re-programmed if so could someone tell me how this can be done what equipment, software, tools etc.

    cheers..

TBH...until I saw your post, I had never heard of videoway. I was more interested in the article about chipping SA boxes. Until recently I hadn't been interested in cable viewing, but I have just had NTL broadband installed & realised that the analogue video channels are also sent down the same cable.
I also didn't realise until a couple of days ago, that Jerrold and SA boxes were not interchangable. A mate told me that for my area I need an SA box. He said he knew someone who might be selling one & would let me know.
Is the videoway box compatable with Jerrold, SA or neither!
