    Default N64 Emulation

I understand that the compatibilty rate is poor, but which emulator has the best compatibility?

Is there a tasty emulator on the horizon?

    Cheers.

I'd say Project64 is the best emulator at the moment. Compatability is the pretty good, I haven't found many games it doesn't play.

Cheers for that, I'll give it a go.

IIRC, you have to mess around with it though, (plugins etc) to get it working properly.

(Though I think the forums were quite helpful...)
Try Gentoo, the linux source distro...
Currently Playing: Viewtifull Joe (GC), Mario Kart : Double Dash (GC), Mario & Luigi Superstars (GBA).

basically its best to have most of the n64 emus some run some games better than the others etc so it all depends on which games you wish to play. Resident Evil 2 doesnt work on anything tho thats for sure

Do you know which emulator runs Yoshi's Story?

Me bird has recently become addicted to Yoshi's Island on the SNES and I'm sure there's a blozzer in it for me if I can get this N64 ROM up and running!

hmm im not sure that might be one of the ones that doesnt work so well... Nemu0.7a runs Smash Bros near perfect that has lots of Yoshis in it. when i say near perfect the menus look a bit weird nothing major and you cant get secret characters after completion it just buggers at the end but a save file with all unlocked can easily surpass the need to complete it

She's a platform kinda girl (is it me, or do all birds only like Sonic or Mario games?!), I know SSB has platforms in it, but it's Yoshi's Story I really want.

I do actually have it on the N64 at my place, but can't be bothered to unpack it all and trawl it over to hers to unpack it again, for what will probably result in only a few hours play.....

The ROM exists for D/L, so someone must've have got it work somehow, surely?

(not an expert in these matters)

yes the rom is dumped but its dumped for use on a console copier like a v64 or cd64, its use on an emulator is just a bonus (if it can be made to work)
