M$ pi$$ing even more money away

not only are m$ reporting their home division as losing US$348 million THIS QUATER (compared to $180 million in the same quater last year)

but it appears they are also pissing money away keeping a anonymous partner company in japan afloat, slashdot reckons that this failing japanese company could be SEGA which would explain the recent announcements of several exclusive titles for xbox as well as titles previously exclusive to other formats now heading to xbox too.

why dont he just admit defeat and call it a day, ok hes got loads of money but surely its not good businees sense to keep producing ANY product a ta loss.

They just want to get a slice of a very big pie - look at Sony, and what the Playstation did for their revenue... I guess they hope if they operate the section at a loss for a while, whilst backing it up with money from the money making units, they can eventually come out with a profit if say Nintendo packed the hardware scene in and that left just Sony & MS..

You should see the XBox bit in the Reading MS campus, they take it pretty serious, plus they get cool arcade cabinets for XBox stuff..

I think what they are doing make since there trying to make there console a household name even at a loss so when xbox-next comes out they will have a huge fan base and supporters.
