    Feck I've been thick - you're doing this on CD's aren't you - I did this on a HDD..

Right then, you'd be more like this:

    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

    K:\Documents and Settings\Aido>d:

    D:\>dir *.mp3 /b /s >> c:\mp3listnew.txt

    D:\>notepad c:\mp3listnew.txt

    D:\>
It would have been trying to write the file to a CD-ROM so it wouldn't work....

The above will now write the file to the root of C:\ so you can just keep swapping - does that work now?

Which one's giving you that error mate?

You're typing the following exactly right?

    dir *.mp3 /b /s >> c:\mp3listnew.txt

Can you copy and paste the output for me, preferably text (just select it and right click) or even a screenshot will do mate (alt + print screen)

    The spaces are missing mate..

    dir *.mp3 /b /s >> c:\mp3listnew.txt

    ie:

    dir(space)*.mp3(space)/b(space)/s(space)>>(space)c:\mp3listnew.txt

You can also make a list in HTML with winamp, very easy too.

Open all the MP3s you want to list so they are in the playlist then press CTRL+ALT+G. There you go!
