    Default It's nearly the 14th :D

yup, and if you're as an impatient geek as I am you've already preordered your GBASP
what worries me is lik-sang have the damn downsteppers on backorder also... I just hope it doesn't delay my GBASP delivery...
question is, what's customs gonna sting
    anyone else a geek?

I'm a geek (as I'm sure marcode will confirm)

I've gone with Lik-Sang too as I've had no problems with them in the past. The Step Down on backorder is abit worrying, hopefully they have set aside enough of them for the pre-orders.

Is it actually confirmed yet that the power connector on the GBA is a custom one? i.e you cant just go to currys' get a multi-voltage adaptor and plug that in?

yup it is a custom one that comes with the device itself, ie an a/c adaptor with jap specifications (110volt, and those weird sockets they use)... so if you do buy your downstep conv. from here just match it to the adaptor's specs.. shouldn't be that difficult to find.
I think that the power in socket of the gbasp also doubles as a headphone out, with the right cable.

Was hoping Lik-Sang would have received their stock by now and shipped out. It's strange that it's due out tomorrow and no-one appears to have recieved their stock. :/

just checked lik-sang and found the following:

The Gameboy Advance SP is on sale for US$ 129 and is available in three different colors: Platinum, Onyx Black, Azurite Blue.
The first batch of preorders is getting shipped today. Unfortunately, as expected, supply is short on the unit and we are receiving new partial deliveries everyday. We do expect to need a couple more days (five to seven if everything goes smoothly) to clear the huge amount of recorded preorders. We do ship all parcels on 'first come, first served' basis, money or gift offers to our Shipping and Customer Service staff are not an option ;-)
For new orders, please do not expect us to be able to ship your newly placed order before at least one full week. Again for new orders, the first come, first served policy will be maintained.

My order has been changed now to show the Silver GBA-SP as a backorder line. It looks like mine isn't going to be shipped untill they get more stock next week now

All other lines seem ok tho which is good. The Stepdown thingy is back in stock, and the Headphone adapter seems in good supply.

Seems odd that Ninty are trickle feeding this product

no, its just SO popular that demand is far outstripping supply, looks like sales will surpass any previous console launch.

btw to those who ordered from lan-kewi instead of lik-sang congratulations, ALL preorders were shipped yesterday (the 13th) except those who ordered the limited edition pearl white boxed sets which will ship on saturday.

lan-kwei have now closed and are not taking orders for new business untill mid march (with the exception of afterburner help and queries).

Lan-Kwei.com will fuse with another local company in the near future. At the same time, a complete new site-system will be introduced to the public. All this involves changing servers, programming the new website, moving facilities (office & warehouse), and several legal issues. To make it short: Starting from today, we do NOT take any new orders at all, until further notice. We think it is better to concentrate our man (and women-) power to take time for this, instead of rushing through everything with chances quite high that stuff goes under. If you want to contact us, please feel free to use the following e-mails ONLY, and only for their uses specified:
settle@lan-kwei.com: Please use this e-mail if you have an outstanding order with us. Make sure to include your complete name, address, any transaction details/order ID, and the goods/amounts you ordered/received, as well as the sales rep's name. If you did not, or only partially received your order, we will most likely refund you instead of sending another shipment, to save time for both sides.
gba@lan-kwei.com: Use this e-mail only for Afterburner preinstalled GBA issues. Although the backlog has been finished since December already, we are aware that it is possible that some orders stayed unfinished in those hectic times. Also, please include all the above mentioned details when contacting us.
We will be back approximately middle of March with an extended team to improve customer service, with more comfortable purchase options (shopping cart and online tracking), with more sections dealing with rare and exotic consoles as well as some "special" categories, with bigger stocking and shipping facility to improve order turnaround times, and of course with the same low prices as always. We have reached the point where it is impossible for us to handle all your enquiries in a satisfying way, and we hope you agree with our little break, which will do good to everyone after all.

Have you all ordered the seperate headphone lead cable too then? That's a ****ing con.

It's a fooking disgrace releasing this 'fixed' version of the GBA. They should have got it right the first time round.
...But I'll still end up buying one once they are over here when the misses isn't looking in my direction. I'll have to keep it at work, next to my PS2.

I pre-ordered the JAP GBA when it was first released. I would find this one way to awkward with having to use a bloody step-down converter.

hmm my order on lik-sang says "preorder released, waiting for release date"... I thought hong kong was ahead of us 8 hours ?
other than that, I got my original GBA as a gift from a japanese friend when it was first released, so I don't mind paying for this one.
I just hope I don't see some kid on the bus/tube with one of these while mine is still not shipped :shy:
    actually, I MUST grow up.

    source http://www3.gamenews.com.hk/

we have confirmed that it can works on Flash Adavnce or xtreme. However, the 512M flash card does not works on SP, since its size is too big to fit into the SP socket

    thank god for that!
