DivX and the MS remote dongle

Before I invest will the official MS Xbox remote and dongle work with a modified Xbox?

I know I don't need it but I want a remote :oneeye:

XBMP v2.2 plays divx, why not just ftp it to your box? not sure if it streams from cdr as i've not tried... and it's all dongle free too.

yes, but dvd playback will not be region free.
(you'll need to run dvdx v1.0 before you plug in the infra-red eye for region free)

not sure where you guys are coming from, I think he just wants to have some remote to operate the stuff (I like the remote better than the controller when I'm using XBMP), but the dongle does work with a modded box.

Hi!

I have here two XBoxes. One 1.0 and one 1.1.
Both with the original MS Remote Control.

Both Boxes with XBMP 2.3 (and 2.2 previously).
Both are working perfectly with the remote control.
There's also a way to patch the original MS Dashboard so that it doesn't check the Region.
I don't remember where I got the patch, but if someone needs it, I'll investigate...

Anyway, with XBMP the Remote Control works perfectly on modded Boxes.
