    Default Splitting MP3's?

    Hi there
Sorry if this sounds lame, but I am new to this and all help would be appreciated.
I have just d/l War Of the Worlds CD1 - No probs
Played and checked it - No probs

Problem is, it is 1 big MP3, not several smaller tracks.

Is there an easy way to split this into correct tracks and keep in MP3 format.

I thought it might be an album wrap, but that won't extract it.

    Thanks in advance.
    Magic Dave.

Or simply use Nero Express. (Thats the version I've got anyway but any nero has this option)When you've dragged and dropped your mp3 album into Nero, just look to the right and click "no pause between tracks" and hey presto, it will burn in seperate tracks.

you need a .cue file m8, do a search on google, ther are tutorials on how to compose these and make them up. YOu can do it in notepad and transer it accross to a .cue editor.

I cant get the hang of them myself.

Now for the better news. There is a site that basically has a massive library of .cue files, you simply do a search, it rtelies on poeple making them and sharing them.

I do not know the site of the top of my head when i find it i will let youy know (will look tonight).

He is saying it is one big MP3 file, so there are not seperate tracks.

A .cue file is an image of the CD, Nero or other apps will use the .cue file to cue up the order, times, postiton etc etc.

Do a google search. I have not had the chance to sit infront of my home PC to find the linkto the site.

If you take a mixed album, rip it and then use any programme to burn it, even with 0 seconds you will notice the slightest clitch between tracks. However if you get a CD and make one file from it and then compose a .cue file, you are essentially bruning it back EXACTLY as it was. As it is one file the coding for the seperate tracks is done on the CD and in effect the file is not broken.

First of all here you go http://www.regeert.nl/cuesheet/ this is the baby you want. Do a search, i hope you find what you want. Make sure the .cue sheet os for .mp3 files. If it is not then you just need to change the extension so it is for the mp3 file.

I have added a load of other stuff in here for you depending on what you are looking to do etc etc.

You don't need to do anything with the .cue files?? Just open the file in cool edit (you can download a trial version or look on a p2p) Just mark where you want the track to finish. Then do this after every track. Simple as that.

I'm sorry, I'm actually talking shit. I totally misunderstood your question. To split into tracks using Adobe Audition or Cool Edit follow this handy link http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/321854.html
