    Default Unsupported card type

    Hi,

Im using a Clanza minisdk and nagra edit 3.0.

When reading ROM11 cards I end up getting this following error:

    Opening of COM1 was successful
ATR String: (THIS COMES UP BUT DIDNT KNOW WHETHER I WAS ALLOWED TO WRITE IT)

    ROM Revision: 011
    EEPROM Revision: RevB08
    Error, unsupported card type
    Closing of COM1 was successful

    END

Am i using the wrong programmer. It can read card 10's. Some card 10's no. It read my ROM 11 in box2get though.

I dont understand what this means. I only bought my programmer on the weekend.

Im using a radioshack multi adapter 12 unregulated 500mA

    Thanks people

I don't think you can use nagraedit to read a rom 11 and in any case you cannot write to one. The only think you can do is use box2get and get the info and then make a funcard or possibly write to a rom10.

You must use boxgetpc to read this information

In regard to the first post:

How do i get my public keys please?

If my rom 11 cant be read then how do i get this information.

Even rom 10 cant be read. is that cause the backdoor keys have been disabled by ntl recently?

How do i get all this working then:

where do i get a full rom from?

Are all the public keys different for each card or ar they only different for each area?

Can I read a card from someone who has their box done already.

    Would that work?

    Thanks

P.S. When you say full rom, you mean one with all the channels right?

    I got no idea now.

I just tried to make an interface for the rs232 but failed. Getting some weird error codes (another post in the forum).

Im losing hope and wish someone would help as ive been awaiting a reply all day. Someone please help me save my box.

Has annyone found an easier way of using libdebug without use of the rs232 interface. Maybe a serial to usb thing may work. Does anyone know?

Damn this err 11 and err 12.

Im going off to bed now.

Thank you so much to anyone that helps.

Once again, you cannot use nagraedit to read a rom11. Your probs in reading a rom10 could be due to a problem with the proggie, backdoor locked or a prob with the power supply. Read your rom11 and get your ird and boxkey using a boxgetpc. Now the simplest way of doing a fun is to get the X hex thats going around. Follow the instructions and edit the hex in notepad inserting your ird and boxkey at the appropriate places. Write these to a funcard and bob's your uncle.

it's much easier to fit max232 and capacitors to main board and pick up conections from unused connector position not far from max232 position at the back of board

In regards to the last post, what is meant by picking up connections from the unused connector position. I have found it really hard soldering to the max232 space on the main board. The wires just dont seem to want to be soldered to it.

    Thanks.

Also, what is to be done to get the funcard and the box paired.

    Thanks again.

    .
the unused connector is the one that has 10 pads bordered by a rectangle (and nothing soldered to it ) you can trace tracks to it from the max 232 position ( you only need three of them tx rx and gnd - check spec sheet for which pins) you can find alternative connections to ic position under the main board - just follow the tracks
