    Ouch, that's ****ed.
Pretty touching poem for you too:

I went to a party, Mom, i remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom, So i drank soda instead.

I really felt proud inside,Mom, The way you said i would.

I didnt drink and drive, Mom, Even though the others said i should.

I know i did the right thing, Mom, i know you are always right.

Now the party is finally ending, Mom, As everyone is driving out of sight.

As i got into my car, Mom, i knew i would get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me, So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom, But as i pulled out into the road,
The car didnt see me, Mom, And hit me like a load.

As i lay there on the pavement, Mom, I hear the policeman say,
The other guy is drunk, Mom, and know i am the one who will pay.

I am lying here dying, Mom.....I wish you would get here soon.

How could this happen to me, Mom? My life just burst like a balloon.
There is blood all around me Mom, and most of it is mine.

I hear the medics say mom, I will die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, Mom, I swear i didnt drink.

    It was the others, Mom.
    The others didnt think.
He was probably at the same party as i.

The only difference is, He drank and i will die.
Why do people drink, Mom?It can ruin your whole life.

I am feeling sharp pains now Mom.
    Pains.. Just like a knife.
The guy who hit me in walking, Mom, and i dont think its fair.
I am lying here dying and all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.

And when i go to heaven, Mom, Put "Daddys girl" on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom, not to drink and drive.

If only they had told him, Mom, i would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom, i am becoming very scared.
Please dont cry for me, Mom.
When i needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom, before i say goodbye.
I didnt drink and drive, So why am i the one to die.

stuck at a members request for a short while as an example to those who may still chose to drink and drive.

HOWEVER i have to say that the driver in this case had only had a couple of beers and would therefore have been within the uk's drink/drive limits, it might have made a better point with regard to driving stupidly but lets face facts not many cars go up in flames like that poor unfortunate girls did.

and no, i do not support drink driving in any way, personaly i think the limit should be just high enough to allow someone to take a dose of day nurse (or other medicine that may contain small quantities of alcahol).

    fu(k.....

just looking at that made my eye's water

like plastic and rubber, if i was her I would've ended it long ago... which shows how brave she is.

edit: just taking a second look, it broke me down to where I need a kleenex.

ABCMan, I agree, but every year I see people die from stupidity, I don't have a thing about drinking underage/if it's medicene etc., but you're a moron to drive then. This is a worst case scenario, yes, but worst case scenerios do exist and people do cause them.

Now Ive been sitting here thinking about this terrible thread for the past couple of hours, and I have to ask, WHY did the medical staff \ parents continue to administer emergency medicine when it must of known what the outcome would be? Im not sure I would want to continue...

well.. they didnt have airbags, and the car burst on fire. If it had of been a new car, they'd have probably gotten away with a few scratches... another girl in the back died too, not wearing a seatbelt.

the problem with using things like this in an ad are the same as with drugs, people simply arent stupid enough to think that if you drink drive then you are going to cause an accident that will result in that kind of damage, the result of this would be to possibly risk increasing drink driving, better to use "normal" drink drive victims that people could know or see than some mythical 1 in 10,000,000 accident.

i'd also like to know what was wrong with her car to catch fire like that, i know cars do catch fire in an accident, but its extremely rare. Remember a lot of the damage to the car in the picture would have been caused by the rescuers desperatly trying to free the person trapped inside and not by the accident itself.

Drink driving is wrong, it impairs your ability to drive and greatly increases your chances of being involved in an accident, that is the truth, its better to hammer home the truth than to overplay it to the point where people think "that'll never happen"

thats a lot of reading, but worth it, looks like this drink driver accident had more to it than the girls site reported, the driver of the SUV was drunk, but the girls car was speeding and on the wrong side of the road, so who was to blame? obviously the drunk driver was breaking the law but was the accident actualy his fault or was he just drunk in the wrong place at the wrong time?

After the wreck, Jacqui filed a lawsuit against General Motors, the maker of the Oldsmobile, claiming a fuel line design flaw caused the fire.

The Saburidos' lawyer, Craig Sico of Corpus Christi, said Jacqui would have escaped with only broken bones if the fuel line had been properly protected.

Personally i think drink driving gets used as a scapegoat in some situations. I know many people who can have a couple of beers and still drive home perfectly safely (and some who are absolutely steaming and still make it, but the less said about them the better).

But saying this i also know many people who at 16 and 17 have written off cars, most of them unable to drive legally anyway, without even having a drop of alcohol. Just beacause some1 has been drinking doesnt neccesarily make them instantly bad at driving, but just coz ur sober dont mean ur a good driver.

You have to know where your limits are, if you know u can have a few beers and drive fine then i cant see any reason why you shouldnt, and ur probablly still gonna be under the limit too.

But if u have an accident because of the alcohol its your own fault, and it seems this guy is gonna have that on his shoulders for a long time.

It pays just to think sumtimes

That's the problem, after a few beers you ability to judge 'your limits' is affected.

Like has been previously said, the limit should be miniscule so that medicine can be taken, but other than that it should be nil.

If you want to drink pay for a taxi, not with a life.

That sort of thinking will get you and your car wrapped around something, probably a innocent bystander.

There really is no excuse. If it were up to me the penalty for drink driving would be much harsher. What do you get, a few years without a licence... Pffftttt....
