I agree that some of the extra's were over the top. It will be interesting to see if he makes any more changes when the they are finally released on DVD.
Alot of people (including my mum ) want to have the origional version on the dvd release along with the revamped one!

The Movie Synopsis sounds dodgy to say the least.
"Red Dwarf the Movie" is set in the distant future where Homo Sapienoids - a fearsome combination of flesh and machine - have taken over the solar system and almost wiped out the crews of long-haul space freighters that left Earth before the conflict began. The Sapienoids send forth fleets of Death Ships to hunt them down.
One by one - the human ships fall, until only one remains.
It's name RED DWARF ...
now't like rewriting a successful shows' history to justify a big budget film.

Looks class. Glad to see that they have kept the origional crew apart from Konchaski, she is the token female that all films seem to have these days (even the mighty Dog Soldiers!).
Role on December!

According to imdb.com http://us.imdb.com/Title?0276447 Chloë Annett is still due to play Kristine Z. Kochanski in the movie.

I agree. The series was so much funnier with the cheap production values, I didn't like (and am sorry to say - never watched) the newer cgi + canned laughter episodes. Chloe Annette was a weak character to add, hey she looks nice but I'd rather they stuck with Claire Grogan.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
Series 8 was great when the brought back the entire crew (which I assume they are doing for the movie) but the series without Rimmer was the worst.
And you are right, the canned lafter took the edge off the show.
Dont get me wrong, ?I wouldnt say no to either of the actresses who played Kochanski but I dont think they add to the show.

i think the film will be ok but it will never be as good as the series
Good news.... even if a little bit later than we thought!!!!!
