nokia 3310 prob

hi
can anyone help me out
my nokia 3310`s screen keeps going off
i can turn it on and it the screen will stay on but if i try to access games or the address book the screen goes off the actual phone is still on because if i choose ringtones the screen goes off but i can still scroll through the tones and hear them
has anybody else come across this before

has it been unlocked or flashed? sounds like a software error...

hmm, personally i'd try unlocking it again and do the FAID.
Failing that you could flash a virgin eeprom to it.
Failing that, it's a trip to argos

you can always use epromm tools aand try and do a factor reset
or to update the faid.
Be careful though as this might not solve your probs but create more in the process

have you tryed taking the screen out and cleaning the contacts with a tiny amount of nail varnish remover on a cotton bud?

not yet
but i think its a software prob
as it only happens when i try and access certain things
ie
balance
games
etc

if you flash it and dont know what your doing, you can kill your phone, besides you need a LPT fasher cable kit and they are around �15, but if you still want to, look here for how to and software

if you just want to try the eeprom tools thing as "dezzy says" you only need an mbus cable and you can get the eeprom tools software there to.
