      Graphics Cards

      Hi

      I got a TNT2 and recently bought a GeForce 4 Ti4200!

      However i am now skint so am tempted to get my cash back on it and get a GeForce 4 MX 440!

      Are these any good for gaming as they are ALOT cheaper?!?

      The GeForce 4 MX range of cards are nothing more than re-badged GeForce 2's (castrated ones that is).
      Better than the TNT2 obviously, but not by much.
      Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
      Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
      Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
      Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

      I'd partly agree with Pegasus, but have a look @ this benchmark:

      it beats the Geforce 2 cards. If your looking @ spending around 50 quid you might want to consider the ATI 9100 cards (rebadged 8500s). i.e., www.dabs.com dabsvalue 9100 = 52 quid. They are much quicker & I believe support DirectX 8.1.
