    Default Formating harddisc - necessary?

I'm planning to finally put a modchip on my xbox (x-ecuter 2), now I wanted to ask if it is necessary to format the xbox harddisc. I really don't want to do that since I have lots of saved stuff from my games that I don't want to lose (anyone who has unlocked everything in Marvel vs Capcom 2 and has played Amped to #1 knows what I mean, heh)

no mate you dont need to format the hard-disc just to have a modchip installed - you only need to mess with the hard-disc if you are gonna install games/apps to it - otherwise just leave it be

if you wanna installed apps like:

    Media Player
    DVD Movie Player v2
    etc. etc.

then you dont have to format the hard drive but you
should install EvolutionX to make things easier -
the tutorials on www.xbox-scene.com will show you
how to do this - you can get a disc that installs everything
for you (cant remember what its called though)

    hope this helps
