Only until recently NDS/Videoguard used by Sky Digital was the safest inscription system in Europe. All the efforts by hackers were good only for a week and then something was going wrong again and there was no cure. Unless you paid the subscription charge you could not watch SKY.

Now we have the latest on the subject. All it took it was to concentrate not on the smart card but on the official receiver itself: DigiBox. Apparently the hardware inside the Philips box needs to be slightly modified and the whole package including the Pay per View programs is visible for free without the use of any smart card.

Phillips only make digiboxes for the US Sky... their NDS/Videoguard encryption is different to ours and it does not work over here. The rumour floated round about 6 months ago.. Its a no go.
