I'm thinking of getting the subject .. name.. Icom...blah..

can anyone give me pointers :ie if this is a good buy.. the specs seem well impressive . but the pirce is high.. and dont want to get lumbered with a 365.99 quid door stop.. :O/ ..

ive not seen any bad reports about the radio, and all you need to decide is if you need ssb if you dont get the pcr 100. and if u must have a scanner that will go into your pc then choice is limited unfortunatly as winradio only does 0-60mhz i believe

You could try one of the following:
ebay, they come up for sale every now and again, but you will have to take the risk of the warranty

or

buy one of the Radio dedicated magazines, there are normally various shops there you can buy them from.

If you do get one, there are numerous groups on the net where you can get help, and most of all, get yourself a discone.
