    need more details m8,

    what colour is it blinking ?

    Its more than likely that a wire somewhere has come lose or has bad contact. I think the only way to check and be sure will be to take the box apart.

    Is it modded ?

    When I turn on the x-box and press the eject button,I can hear the motor running and the light blinks green for about a minute then stops,but the door never opens. It is driving me crazy. I am really considering modding it out. I was thinking about just replacing the dvd rom drive altogether. If I do I understand that I can't run x-box cd's from that drive from reading the forum. But can I copy them to the hard drive and play the from there? Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

    if you replace the Drive with a PC one you wont be able to read any original disks at all - only backups. So if the box is not modded forget that option until it is. Same applies to the running of games from the Harddrive - must be modded first There is a brand new method out that allows you to modify a PC DVD ROM drive to do both buts it compleciated and can only be done on one make of DVD.

    has this been proven 100% that it deffo works yet m8, last i read the original poster hadnt put the details on the forum yet.

    lets know m8

    @blackgemini

    i had the same problem your having m8
    tray wouldnt open, light blinking and you could hear the motor trying to open it.

    what mine was m8 was a peice of elastic wrapped round something inside the dvd drive, thus stopping the tray from moving in and out freely, i nearly binned the box and bought a new one m8, then i decided to open it up and have a look inside.

    so although it may not be the case in your situation, just open it up and have a look m8, it cant hurt to look

    actually thinking about it if its not modded and still under guarantee take it back and the chances are very good youll get a new one with a decent drive that reads all media ie a Samsung or philips instead of the Thompson thats in it now.

    you dont need to tell them how it happened just say you went to use again and it wouldnt work.
