    Sending-off offences
A player is sent off and shown the red card if he commits any of the following seven offences:
    1. is guilty of serious foul play
    2. is guilty of violent conduct
    3. spits at an opponent or any other person
    4. denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his own penalty area)
    5. denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick
    6. uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
    7. receives a second caution in the same match

A player who has been sent off must leave the vicinity of the field of play and the technical area.

    yawn

the keeper went for the ball, it was not serious foul play but was a pen and a yellow at worse

the real red card today that elleray the gooners of all people missed was an elbow on freddie ljunberg by nemeth i think

it was as bad if not worse than sols on ole and the arse did not even get a free kick

not that it made much difference to the outcome

Wouldnt it have been better to post, WTF is going on with ALL these dodgy decisions in MOST of the matches you here about these days.

Unfortunatley controversy is always going to be a part of football, until they start using Video refereeing.
if its a foul in the box the keeper should have gone off and the ref did fcuk all cause its at old trafford .and the refs are shit scared of red face ferguson.ive got nothing against the players but a the foul was in the box .if bartez was still on he would have been sent off but with no outher keeper ,he shit his pants

glad you mentioned that m8, shows the inconsistency with the refs these days.

was it me or were there some real park football tackles today especially in the everton game & the wet sham game as well... pearces challenge was worthy of a straight red before the handbags started flying!!

Ref's are not just bias towards Man.U, they are bias to Alan Shearer aswell. He kick's lump's and elbow's just about every centre half in the country in the face, week in and week out. Take Alan Smith yesterday, kicked out at someone and saw red, Shearer, Scholes and co do it all the time and get away with it.

Yep the ref always favours United!
After all the second goal for Arsenal on Wednesday wasn't offside was it!!!!!!!!!!
But then we normally just get on with it and stop bleating about somethings that you just can't change.

there. you answered your own question as Andrew Cole was running out of play and away from the goal.

the letter of the law applied correctly again.

have to agree with the Ref's decision.

Ricardo stayed on the pitch because the attacking player was going towards the corner and not the goal.

Also, Andy Cole = not a clear goal scoring opportunity.
