twin choke webber on vw golf

does anybody know what the correct standard size jets should be on a twin choke webber fitted to a vw golf 1800cc

somebody in there wisdom has fitted one to my wifes car ( before we bought the car ) and it's supping fuel like its going out of fashion it's also carboning the plugs quite badly

the jets in the carb are 145 / 225 which sound far to big for my likeing and when i asked at a carburetter centre the just wanted me to take the car and charge me for looking in they wouldn't tell me i don't fancy paying 60 quid for a couple of jets

any help would be appreciated

I have the same carb on my golf 1.6 and unfortunatly even though i have a stainless exhaust and a K&N filter the best i can get out of 23 quid is 160-170 miles around town :-(

umm the best thing to do is phone webber up or go to
http://www.webcon.co.uk/ and go to the webber carburettors bit and then go to the bottom and phone them up!!

cheers for the info i will give them a ring and see what they say

my wife gets around 50 miles to the tenner out of hers around 20 to the gallon which is terrible and i can only put it down to the carb as it's not the original carb to the car
