Running Games from the HD

Can I run all current games from the HD if I get them from the original disk?? Or are we into the realms of patching etc.

I have xecuter2 lite chip which I believe has the Cromwell bios

Update your bios to Xecuter2 4976.02 and you shouldn't need any patches.

You cant have the Cromwell bios otherwise you wouldnt have been able to install evox and cromwell dont recognise any backups whatsover.

Ok I have established I have the V1.1 4973 bios.

I think I may need some help here now though - What will I need to flash the new bios to my Lite??

Ok - Now I'm a little unsure of this.

I read the TUT and done everything right up to:-

3/ Flash modchip
Restart your Xbox.
In EvoX go to "System Utils" > "Flash BIOS" (standard location if you didn't change this in the evox.ini).
All bios versions uploaded in step1 will now be listed.
Select the bios you want and press "A" and then confirm your action by pressing "Y".
It will flash to your new bios/kernel in less then 5secs, and your Xbox will switch off.

I can't find the system utils in Evox on my HD so I booted from the Slayer installer disk and found an option to flash modchip or onboard TSOP. I went into that and was prompted about cooking my box so I bottled it for now - Am I doing the right thing.

there is a certain amount of risk involved m8,

noone can guarantee that it wont stop halfway through the flash but unless you have one of these babies then theres no other way really.

Yeah I've seen those - I'm not too woried abot the Xecuter messing up just the box.

Whats the onboard TSOP??

Will I damage that??

no your flashing the chip not onboard TSOP, that can be done too then you dont need a modchip but youve shit it then for using Live. Also if you fook up trying to flash that then your really in the soup.

All games seem to be working ok now any way so maybe i'll wait.

The onlyone I had a problem with was Rayman3 which had a crack in the rar anyway.
