TWO sex-starved Romeos tried to break into a women's prison - because they were sure the inmates would find them irresistible.

The bright-spark duo hit on the idea after one-too-many beers at a nightclub.

This week they were charged with trespass after failing to deliver passion to the women of Maldon's Tarrengower Prison.

A prison source said the men, in their early 20s, clearly had been drinking.

"These guys thought they were God's gift to women," he said.

"We have a hard enough time keeping inmates in, let alone having to worry about keeping people out."

They were caught in the grounds of the minimum security jail in the early hours of April 17.

I can relate to their thinking.

When I was a teenager, a wee crowd of us used to hang around the grounds of an all-girls boarding school at night in the vain hope that some of the "sex-starved" schoolgirls would somehow break out of their confines and perform sexual favours for us.

It never happened, of course, but I did hear that someone's mate's older brother claimed that he he saw one of them in their underwear at the window once!
