All major hard drive manufacturers provide some sort of major hard drive diagnostic software for their particular drives. I suggest you go to your hard manufacturers website, download, install and run their hard drive diagnostics program. If the program discovers a non-software problem (and your drive is still under warranty) write down the error and call the manufacturer. They will ask for the error from their diagnostic tool, before they will replace the drive.
check the drives if you have a fujitsu 3000 series disc it maybe the controller chip they overheat and fail fujitsu got a bad batch of chips from cirrus logic.. last year a lot of companies were trying to sue fujitsu over this..this fault is pretty common on hds when the power board fails if it has data ya need. then try getting a power board from a similar drive and swapping it over. or as a final resort get a new hd put the failed on in the fridge if the controller is overheating leave it for 24hrs take it out then ghost it onto a new drive. had many tiny computers at work with failed hds all fujitsu 3000 series
