    Default lifting pin 11

    ive got a 2k box. now to stop the update i need to connect pin 11 from both chips to the + battery.

    does the pin HAVE to be LIFTED or can it be left in situ???

    also i understand that as the 2k box has 2 spare spaces for 2 more chips and pin 11 on those can be connected to the + of the battery too. does those pins need to be LIFTED ?????

    many thanks in advance

    You don't need to lift the pins (11) on the two Atmels, if you just take pin 11 from the two spare slots and connect them to the + of the battery then this will stop your 2K updating to CR3.

    Hope this helps

    So that is on a 2000 box there is 2 spare spaces next to the 2 atmels on board ...To stop it updating to cr3 take 2 wires from pads/11 to the + on the battery and thats it ?... Is it ok to link the 2 pad 11's up and take a single wire to the battery ?...Macy

    @macy

    That's all you need to do m8 and yes it's ok to link the two pin 11's and connect to the + side of the battery.

    umm.....this cr3 mod dont seem to work on the 4001 series,first i followed the tracks from pin 11's and expertly soldered the
    wires onto the pads as that was alot easier than the chip legs,plugged it in and got all of the display lit up eg:88:88 and the side leds,took em off and all working fine again
    so i thought it was because i used the pads at the end of the tracks so next i attached the two wires to the actuall pin11's still the same thing all the led display lit up,took em off and all working again now.
    while in the 88:88 mode the box wont respond to any buttons at all

    so has anyone got any ideas for the 4001 series to stop the updating of this model?

    thx guys

    @ jaynigs i think u have to LIFT the 2 legs from the board and THEN connect BOTH to the battery.

    can someone please confirm this, that the 2 legs MUST NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE BOARD AT ALL ONLY TO THE BATTERY.

    yes thats why it says lift pin 11 on both chips, ie disconnect pin 11 from main board then connect the lifted pins to + side of battery
