Default can a cpu f*** your motherboard .Help!

I was running a athlon 2000 in an epox ep-8ka7+ mb and it was running fine. A m8 of mine bought a athlon 2100 cpu for his system and could`nt get it to boot, so I said that I would test his cpu in my system. When I tried it, all the fans would run but there was no video signal to the monitor and it would not past post. Ok I thought his cpu is f***ed.
When I put my cpu back in exactly the same happens. Fans run (cpu, case,mb), no beeps at all, no video output, no flashing lights on keyboard its just dead.
All in all I`ve shorted the cmos out, taken the battery out, disconected the power from the board, taken all the unecessary cards out, swapped the ram, taken the vid card out, swapped the vid card, rebooted with the insert key pressed down etc etc ZILCH NADA !!!!
Any ideas guys, is the mb f***ed or what?? Is it possible for a cpu to damage a motherboard?? The mb is less than 2 years old would it still be under the manufactures guarentee???

    Please help

Sounds like your mates cpu has taken out the clock gen ic, so yep m/b is F@cked hope you told your mate that hes to buy you a new one if it took out your m/b.. as for the manufactures guarentee it they gave you a long one good luck in getting them to fix it.

you can also put clock kumper from 133 to 100 and it should start ur pc again but your cpu will not be running at maximum speed i had to do this for 6 months and then for sum starnge reason i put the clock jumper back on 133 and my pc was runnin at top speed again

A good reason to buy Asus Mobos is because they come with a 3 year warranty, plus they make some stomping mobos.
Hope you get it sorted mate.
