    Default AR2 Disk freezing

My AR2 disk has decided to freeze up on me whenever I boot it, dunno why!

Is there any way I can get a replacem, ent or does anyone have a spare they would mind posting me / selling me?

Try contacting Datel, they should give you a replacement disk free of charge! But I've heard that they are a pain in the ass at getting hold off to replace the disk. Worth a try!

you can buy an updated disk from datel if they won't give you a replacement one for £9.99, it's AR2v2 but it works with any version of the dongle.

Someone told me I can also send it back by blagging Datel and saying that I had an old PS2, it blew, so I got a new one and the old AR2 disk don`t work.

My mate said he got a disk this way as there was a problem with newer PS2`s and old AR2 disks?

Yes m8, newer PS2's won't read old AR2 disks, they will come up with a message saying to contact datel to get a disk that works with newer consoles, so just give datel a call and get it replaced or if they won't replace it do what 2die4 said.

    Where is this?
My disk is freezing before it actually gets to the options menu.

If I boot with the dongle in, it freezes as it tries to load the menu.

If I boot with the dongle out,l I get the "dongle not inserted" error, thewn I insert it, and again as it tried to load the menu, it freezes.

Is this the menu you meant or something else?

you can try resetting it, hold down all the shoulder buttons on the control pad while it loads and it should reset the hardware.

When u hold shoulder buttons also hold start & reset.
Do this as soon as u start PS2
This will reset AR2 back to factory settings
Had to do it a couple of times myself. It worked for me.

    Hold start and reset ?

Do you mean start and select on the pad?

Or do you mean start on the pad and the reset button on the ps2?

Let me know and I`ll try it out - cheers mate
