ebay stopping sale of boxes

Just received emails from eBay advising me that some of the boxes i was bidding on have been withdrawn.

I thought they would people selling to many now ...I think ntl maybe putting presure on them.... Did your email say why it was being withdrawn ? ... was it by the seller or ebay ?...macy

this was supposed to happen months ago but ebay haven't really done much till now, we will just have to stick with those free ad mags from now!!

i bidded on a box, and i got an email from a supposedly 'ntl employee' stating the only way to activate these boxes is to contact them, and to stop bidding on any further boxes!

I got an email today off a guy saying that ebay had withdrawn his box ..He offered me it on the side....Macy

he sounds legit to sell it to you on the side, the problem is if the deal goes sour then youll wont have anything to fall back to (ebay) you never know, it might be alright

Considering the boxes belong to the cable companies anyway, you basically recieving stolen goods in the first place - not much to stand on if you tried to follow any legal procedures

Saying that the cable companies don't know where half the boxes are anyway

The emails came from ebay but only a selected few of the boxes i was bidding on were withdrawn don�t known why?

when selling the boxes they mention "NTL" in their ad's and because they are advertising that they are selling a NTL box.......NTL want it back lol

If your selling a box i cannot see why you couldn't just leave out the Cable Co's names etc
I think that this is what ebay are trying to say but un-officially.

I agree m8 .. People who want the box's know what they look like a simple model number will do ... If ntl are looking at ebay all they have to do is put 3 letters into the search & bingo most of there boxs are there ... And as the box's belong to them ..Well they will want them back .....Some are putting in the adds "Complete with paired card" I would think ntl are fuming that ebay are hosting their boxs for sale ... Well i say fook em .....Car boot sales from now on.....
