I receive the police from hull area on my scanner but it is very faint, as i am 40 ish miles away, is there any way of boosting this ?

make sure u r using a good outdoor discone antenna mounted high up.........

You can use a discone if your sitting in ther house m8,,, but a part from that you would be better off getting closer to the plod station to recieve them better
