Default Scanning a manual for future printing

    Here's one for you!!
I need to scan about 500 pages of A4 onto my pc and burn a cd so that I can print all of the manual at a later date.....
Anybody know of any program that makes this easy

I need the pages to be in order etc

Unless you have the ability to seperate the pages and have a sheet feeder on your scanner, you're going to have to do most of it by hand.

ScanSoft's OmniScan Pro 12 will dump the pages direct into Word which you could then convert into a .pdf using Acrobat Pro 6.

OmniScan Pro 12 will also convert the pages directly into .pdf (bypassing the need to have word and acrobat pro) but I've not tried that option before having had to make alterations prior to printing whenever I've had the need to scan.

In your case, the biggest problem will be human error, missing a page, duplicates etc.

What manual is it, somebody may already have a copy in file?

Acrobat Pro 6 has just been released and it seems it be a massive improvement over ver 5. I like it.

    Thanks for the reply

The manual is in ring binder form so its easily seperated.....no sheet feed so its going to have to be by hand.

    I'll check ScanSoft's OmniScan Pro 12

    Wooow....
GETanner....I checked Adobe's site and the software looks great but the prices are prohibitive.
Also checked ScanSofts home page did you mean omnipage (the ocr) software as I could not see anything to do with omniscan..........but again the prices are high!!!!

    Have to rethink

Could you go get it professionally done? 500 pages one by one is a long process!
