100 phase 1b box that reboots when reaching the NTLHOME start up screen

I have the above fella's that as said,on reaching the NTLHOME white startup screen just reboots with PACE on the led and just continues to do this.I've tried the 4321 etc combinations.It wont even let you boot into engineers menu.It does come up briefly but then reboots again and again.
Anyone else had this experience that could suggest a fix??

not seen this before myself so this is a guess that poss one the atmels are corrupt,it gets so far through boot mode spots the fault and reboots, similiar to when you get a checksum error while trying to do a download (box just reboots with fa happing) as i say just a guess but seems most likely reason.

Have seen something like this reported on the shack and it seems to mean that the software has been erased from the box.The only option until someone figures out how to use Winsect is to remove and reflash the amtels with whichever version of software is in use in your area (Alternatively reflash with whichever software you want and do the anti-update mod).

Actually - just noticed that your box is an ex C&W box which means it only has enough memory to handle CR2.

ive got an ex C&W box and it has cr3 software on it and recives all ppv

where have ppl got the idea that the cw boxes will only hold cr2 software from?

there is no diference between a cw1000 and a tw1000 (i have both) only thing is the cw 1 is shagged lol

Well it looks like I was talking out my arse cos I can't find the post and jimlfixit and minimania prove my theory wrong anyway.

Sorry simeday for the misinformation - looks like you can flash your amtels with whatever software you like!

I'm pretty sure the software has been erased on your box though. You say in your post that you've tried 'the 4321 etc combinations'- does this include '1111' cos this is what wipes the software in preparation of downloading a-new (apparently).

Not true. CW boxes cant handle TW cr3, they can handle ntl cr3 fine. If you're running a CW in a TW area in will try to atuo update about 4/5 times then erase the software.

Your only option is to remove the Atmels from the simm board and reprogram them.

I've seen this many times, this is why i asked if he had a CW box.

Its a Ex CW in an NTL area and always has been.Not done the 1111 because of it wiping the software.I'll just bin it.But thanks anyway guys

ahhhh - some face saved then - thanks The Gab - I'm in a TW area and knew I'd read it somewhere. I have 2x 1000 boxes that won't go any higher than CR2 whatever I try.
