Default Liftting amtels from mem stick on DITV 1000

I took off the two amtels on the mem stick so that I can get ppv on a funcard, but one of the pads have come off, as the chips don't have to be put back on the mem stick will I have any probs?

I got that too its just a short, get the magnifying glass and solder braid out.

To prove its the simm module leave it out then power up the box and if pace appears it's the simm Also i found that using a gas soldering iron with a hot blower attachment and using the feeler blade to apply upward pressure works really well and quick.

I found that using the feeler blade to saw the amtels nearly always causes a short. Also i only lift one end of the amtels so it will be easier to solder back if an update is required in the future. Good luck

It seems to work on all models except the 4001 you get error 18.
It also stops the 1111 kill command working.

Just opened a 2000 model with no simm anybody seen one before?

I have a 1000t and wish to downgrade to CR1
however I have heard that the above method cannot not be done on my box (apparently its its just like a phase 1b box) and I have to solder one leg from amtel to + battery blah blah etc. could someone please confirm this.
    cheers
