FALLING asleep with a lit joint in your hand is surely a bit potty.
You could set the sofa alight, or a keen-eyed police officer could even walk past and nick you.
But when it happened to one hapless dope, he was soon discovered – sitting on a toilet at Ipswich Police Station!
The antics of Steven Baker of Plover Road, Ipswich landed him in court.
It started when he walked into the front reception at the police station in the early hours of Sunday, desperate for the loo.
No sooner had he found the Gents and sat down on the toilet, then lit his joint and had a few puffs – than he promptly fell fast asleep.
The 21-year-old's embarrassing plight was discovered by officers when they popped in at 3.40am.
On the top of the toilet was a joint and a small amount of cannabis.
Baker was detained in custody before he appeared at South East Suffolk Magistrates in Ipswich.
He was convicted on a charge of possessing cannabis.
Wearing a grey hooded top, he spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
The court heard how he had just been released from prison at the end of June, and had previously been an alcoholic.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge and the court ordered for the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis.

but the police are to blame,should of took his pot and kicked his arse out,but!! maybe? he was takin the piss?? and punished for it? also i didnt know they let people use the local nicks as public toilets!!! what if he had 4lbs of c4?
