Default Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

    seen this just recently.

Aboard the Black Pearl, infamous pirate Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) attacks the city of Port Royal and kidnaps a governor's daughter, Elizabeth (Keira Knightley). Barbossa then sets sail with his hostage toward a secret hideaway, hoping to lift an ancient curse by sacrificing her and returning a once-plundered treasure. Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) meets an eccentric seaman, Jack Sparrow, who reveals that the Black Pearl was formerly his ship, until Barbossa committed mutiny. Together, they assemble a ragtag crew and commandeer a British vessel, hoping to chase down and free both Elizabeth and Sparrow's Pearl. Following after them is the British military, led by Elizabeth's would-be fiancé, Commodore Norrington (Jack Davenport).

thought Depp stealed the show, acted superbly.

didnt know it was made by disney until now hehe, but knowing this, the fight scenes are disney typical (no gore, but good scenes)

id give it 7.5/10 good family fun.

Thought the film was great fun.... very tongue in cheek but it all added to it.

Depp was class and although you can see influences from Indiana Jones and the odd Eroll Flynn film!!

Might have to go and see it on the big screen to get the full effect though, especially the special effects during the final fight...

I'm going to see it on Wednesday at the local UGC cinema courtesy of this week's heat magazine.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it, coz I lusually like Disney films and anything involving swashbuckling pirates!

Quality way to spend two hours, it doesn't seem like there have been many pirate movies for years so maybe we'll see a few more now?

Depp was quality as the pissed up pirate, read somewhere he played it like a rock star and it's true, it felt like he was going to belt into a song at any time..

Had myself convinced the bird was that one out of Star Wars, Natalie whatever, and couldn't believe it when I saw it was the bird from the Beckham film - she was nowhere near this tidy back then was she?!?

Didn't really seem like there were any effects until the pirates all starting changing in the moonlight, reminded me of the Mummy films with the way they all looked...Class costumes all the way through...

    saw this earlier tonight.

i thought it was great. its better than all the other shite thats been out recently, and yeah, johnny depp was amazing. I actually started to wonder if he was just acting like it, or if he was absolutley wasted every day of filming.

Oh, and keira knightly. wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating cookies.

Finally got round to watching this.
Good film, and a bit different than most films.
Nice story, nothing too serious, like it when you see them in moonlight, some good effects.
Nice to see a few Brits in there, with the bird, and Orlando Bloom, the "Miles" from this life actor and McKenzie Crook is it? (Gareth from the office).

    Excellent film.

Great for people of all ages, loved the fact the cast was 95% English apart from Depp of course.

Depp Owns it all and Kiera Knightly ranks now as the bird id most like to shag ( i have a soft spot for women with post accents)

Great film, really enjoyed it. Thought Johnny Depp was superb from start to finish. Are they making any more in this series? Hope so...

saw this again the other night with the kids, a great romp.
Apparently there is going to be a sequel out, but i am not sure when.
it made too much money for disney so a sequel will be on its way!
