hi there my m8 is having trouble with his pc,
when it switches it on,the power cums on put then his power and hdd led stays on.and the led on cdrom stays on
and nothing cums on monitor,he has try to reset m/board but its still the same
can any 1 help with problem

Did it work before?
Make sure the ide cables are in the correst way round.

does it normally beep, and if so did it beep this time?
have you tried a different monitor?
have you tried leaving it and seeing if it makes the windows startup sound (assuming you have windows with a startup sound that is)
have you tried leaving it for a while and seeing if you get hard drive activity? (on my pc the hard drive light stays on solid until linux/windows starts loading)
i cant see any problem other than a CPU/Bios/motherboard problem that would cause the pc to not send out a video signal or attempt to boot the os, becuase if the hard drive was nailed it would still boot, and have a "hard drive nailed" error
if it was grphics card or monitor then it would boot up normally, with no video.
(that was pretty much stating the obvious but the obvious things are always the problems)

thanxs for replys,we r not 100% sure wot it was that caused problem
but think it was down to the psu.we stripped everything twice and started
from scratch putting everything back together it still had same problem.so we put motherboard into a new case and everything worked fine.

It could have been somthing as simple as dust in the memory slot breaking the conection, the amount of time i gone to customers who have had the same problem and cleaned the memory slots out with an air duster, and Bingo it all fine again. :thumbs
