Default Error when programming 29LV160

Followed all previous advise given on here and by willem,

Removed any old instances of dlportio and installed the new version from willem.org,

checked lpt port settings are bi-directional,

setup hardware using instructions given before and am using a 12v psu.

Tryed plenty of different tsop's but all get to exactly 50% 0x100000 hex and then fail.

any ideas?????

really stuck on this one

Try cleaning the legs properly and clean tsop thoroughly where the atmel sits in

Good steady voltage is needed with amps of course...

i had problems blowing 12C509 with a vxmini2 and a 12v 1.2amp psu this glitch im having is due to psu probs..
i have been powering it with PC , but i dont like doing this and the problems still seem to arise.

12Volt 3amp ... CB power pack usually are 12V 3.5 amp - 5 amp , these are ideal..

Which adapter are you using I had to buy the new Willem adapter with the Wells ZIF and connect 12v to the Vpp before i managed to program my first 1614, but i do have a chip that only goes to 80% then fails, try using a different chip.

I am using a regulated 12V 1.2A power supply.

You should not have a problem (believe it or not) with cheap power supplies, I find you have more problems with the expensive regd ones. programming vcc can be difficult but sometimes a £1.99 power supply sorts it
Hope its of help
