'Brookside' films final scenes

The last ever scenes of C4 soap Brookside were filmed yesterday.

Dean Sullivan, Suzanne Collins and Philip Olivier all featured in the plot - to be shown on November 4 - although exact details of the closing storyline are being kept under wraps.

“I will miss every single member of the staff, from actors to crew members," said Olivier. "They will be in my hearts forever.”

A tearful Collins added: “I could never find the words to tell the staff how grateful I am and how I will miss them all.”

Brookside first aired on Channel 4's opening night, November 2, 1982.

I actually liked Brookie and thought it was one of the better soaps.
In the early days it was very close to the bone indeed and was compulsive viewing.

Jennifer Ellison will be sadly missed!

early days was pretty good, the sad thing is other soaps got better and brookie didnt it employed proper scousers in the early days,(maybe that helped?) and had better story lines,the writers must of all died?? and some of the cast now and prev, have been right fookin muppets(plastic scousers)
