I got my ntl box installed today, ive been reading up on everything and im lost.

Could someone please point in the direction of the cheapest programer which will do what i need it to do?

First of all: do not Mod a sub Box Leave that one alone!

Second:read the following points!

1 Can a3c be read answer No

2 What can you read write rom 11 with and romstudio 1.6 upto bo6

3 What type programmers .phoenix compat for mosc with 3.68xtal and elvis or sim for fun

4 Soft for mosc use nagraedit will read n write rom10 if card can b read if says contains update cant b read

5 never use a subbed box this is askin for trouble

6 dont post ird n bks in main forum use pm if ya must.

7 we have irc chn if u get really stuck pop in n ask

8 mod either a funcard or a mosc

9 never mod a subbed box thats asking for trouble
Regarding libdebug

libdebug simple enuff to use if it wont work theres something you doing wrong

1 always choose correct config for rel box ie 4k box is dif config to a 1k box

2 a ditv4000 t n etc dont have com port so u need a max232 port installing to change net id (u can use the scrt to max232 but this is not reliable will only do certain 4k boxes

3 never just go in libdebug n erase sram cos this can kill ya box ie to the point u cant set net id on early cr1 and some cr2 boxes
always check box revision first if ur not sure check n double check saves time in long run

4 = 0 quick command can get ur bks on certain model boxes but not a guaranteed way only way thats guaranteed is to try if u cant get from card and u cant get from libdebug then its time to take atmels out

Regarding boxes

4010 box is a ntl box most boxes are rather obvious to what net work there on most say ntl tw etc on the front if not look underneath ie 4000-n ntl 4000-t tw etc
some boxes ie ditv1000 will swap between networks this is mainly trial n error do this at youre own risk it can cause box to get stuck in an update loop


talkback

This must b cut for viewing a modded box some people say use a signal booster etc and it works for them .the only 100 percent way is cut talkback takes a few seconds and is deff gonna do the job.

The 4001 series req talkback disabling after the box has been modded and net id has auto set so just read rel posts n look for pics on how to ull find them all .


No 1 minds answering questions etc but when everything is in front of u and has been asked a dozen times it can be annoying so plz search forums first if not you will recieve a warning for asking questions that have been answered again n again

Thats made absolutly no sense to me whatsoever m8.

All i want to know is what program and cards to buy so i will be able to watch free chanels and a cheap place to buy it.

Once ive got the hardware, i'll be able to make sense of it all.

have you got a non subbed box already?? if not then thats your FIRST step.
if youre planning on getting another box then somethings may not apply as you may get a box with a rom 10 thats readable/writable.

or you may get a box that has no card and the chips have to be read....

the scenarios go on and on....

I didnt make any attempt to understand it because i want all the hardware(then software) i will need first, i dont want to start then have to wait a week for a programer etc. I found the On-dig stuff just as confusing at first, 2 days later i could have been considered an expert.

Ok, i have a NTL box (unsubbed) with a card slot, i also have another box (subbed), do i really need to spend £75 on a programer?

2high yep u need to read and write to the cards.

1/ Read the card and save the image. (safe inncase of messups)
2/ Write a full Package .bin file to get alll the programmes u want and ppv.

I'll just answer the questions as u ask them.. Yes u need a programmer. to do all the above

Well u need a programmer to read / write ur rom card as long as u can read it.

You will need something that can do fun cards and u mite need something to read / write the atmels.

For what it is worth 2high here is my £75 quid's worth (heh heh).

I have purchased three different proggers M8 (starting at £20 then rising to £50), because each time I tried, the last progger would not read the cards. By the time I had finished being a skinflint, I had paid £130 out in proggers and still not got one to do the cards right. Maybe the Willem is expensive at first glance but it does the job you need M8. Now if I had known that when I first started, I would be £75 better off today.

Makes you think doesn't it - being a skinflint does not always save u money

My advice is for you to buy the best progger you can afford M8.
