My missus has a stalker - please help me trace him

The woman I'm seeing has got a stalker. He's been sending her messages on her mobile (don't know how he got the number) & she's been getting very upset. She's getting things through like:

1) You looked great today
2) You're late home from work
3) You've got a nice house there, I'm looking at it now
- to which she replied 'bullshit' - he then described her house, car & reg number etc.
4) I think about you all the time
5) I had a great **** over you earlier

And so on.

She didn't sleep at all last night. She's also started a new job this week which she really enjoys so loosing sleep is the last thing she needs.

For some twisted reason this person has not with-held their mobile number on 1 or more occasions so she knows the number. All I could do since yesterday is call it & it goes to the answer phone. I work nights so I called it every half hour from half 12 till half 6 this morning. When I called the 1st 5 times the phone rang for different lengths of time, like someone had to wake up & cancel the call to get it to go to their answerphone. After that it rang for a lot longer like it was on silent & the phone had to ring the default number of times to go to the answerphone.

I want to know who this piece of shit is. Sooo much.

Can anyone help me trace the caller. Does anyone have friends who work for mobile companies. I know these sort of requests have gone in on previous occasions though I don't know about their outcomes.

The number begins with these digits:

07958

I think that someone might be able to tell which network that is & if they are in a position to help me. If so please please PM me & say so - & I'll be able to send the remainder of that mobile number.

She is on the brink of going to the police now, she was holding back until the things started getting very personal - which is what just happened.

Please help if you can, I will be very much indebted to you.

i think its because he doesnt want to worsen the situation, if he posts it on here perhaps people will start prank calling, and then the ****er who is pestering his lady friend will get worse.

don't take this the wrong way mate.... but in reality she must have given him the number? In which case she knows who it is. How long have you been with her? Its likely to be an ex boyfriend who can take rejection.

The best solution to this is post a mod the number then if someone can help tracing the number get in contact with the mod.

If it's really upsettig her then the police is the best option, if this guy gets a visit from the filth he might think twice before playing mind games with your lady.

Personally I'd turn the tables, then the hunter becomes the hunted and after pestering the c**t every 5 minutes, he'd soon realise I was a bigger nutjob than he was and pack it in.

Yeh call the police, or what i would do (its easy to say when it aint you) is play him at his own game, and text him and say it all back to him (act happy)

That way, he is getting no pleasure at all,(no point doing it) then at the end put thanks for texting, the Police are with me now, they have tracked the details,locations and plenty of evidece i.e cctv at these locations - See you in court.

If all else fails cut your losses and change the phone number. Sometimes it boils down to making a choice of either proving a point or doing the right thing. If your missus is enjoying her new job then to me it does'nt seem worth it for the effort to just change the number. If it's a PAYG phone then you could also keep the sim card and check it every now and again (or get a cheap knacky phone and keep it with you!!!) to check on the messages. Sooner or later if you don't bite he will start dropping clues as to who he is, people don't seem to be able to resist.

Could it be someone from where she used to work who has her phone num \ been given her phone num?

This sounds about right to me, fight fire with fire, get some hardcore animal porn passages from the net and send it bit by bit all day.

Also is the number on all the time? Constantly phoning it at night could lead to awkward questions for the culprit.

The problem with tracing a number is it could be payas u go which would be hard to trace.I know it sounds daft but you could just ignore it maybe he/she thinks he's/she's annoying you so thats why they keep doing it .Also is there no sms bomb type proggys floating around still. I know if it was my wife that was recieveing them id be looking to give who ever it is a new set of teeth

Just to clarify:

Her previous job was in the public domain & her phone number was known by numerous people/organisations/charities that she could help.

Also I didn't want to give the whole number out straight away because I do want to turn the tables on this piece of shit - texting nice house/I'm racking off over a picture of your mrs etc. If it is someone whose name I know - I'll be getting very evil on them.

i might be wrong but 07958 numbers are the old 0ne2one network numbers, so unlikely to be a pay as you go mobile, there was an option to register the phone with directories when it was taken out , but if he has used the number as a contact on finance ,cards info etc you may be able to trace via 192 info discif they have records. pm me the number & i'll look through my old info disc stuff and see if it can bring it up.

alternately a decent trace agent might be able to get the address for a small fee.

how about contacting the t mobile and advising them you are receiving unwanted and disturbing messages from one of their mobile and see if they can do something about it?? mind you if he's watching the house he may not be put off by simple methods.

you could text back asking him to read up on the E911 mandate - if he's sensible he'll get the feck out of the way if he thinks he can be located to within 100m of his current position, depending on the surroundings.

Ask him how fast he can run 100m too... with a gun pointing at him lol

Whenever a mobile telephone is in use, it communicates with a transceiver base station. This means that the caller can be identified as being within the cell covered by that transceiver. The trouble is that, especially in a built up area, one base station may cover an area with a radius of 500m or 1km; in rural areas, this may increase to 5-20 km.

How about phoning her network provider. surely they deal with nuisense call. I know BT does. You may be able to block the number. If not, try logging all the calls an let the police deal. I dont think they will do much about it though especially if she is not being threattened or harmed physically. but in situations like this you have to build a case against such a sicko in case they get sicker - God forbid.
