No need to enable DHCP on ICS Clients ! XP

I keep on reading everywhere that you need to enable dhcp on ICS clients to get it to work : NOT REQUIRED !!!

If you need to assign an IP to all your Pcs, and use ICS at the same time, here is what to do :

On the Internet Server PC, enable ICS, set the local network card on 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
Then find out your dns server by double clicking on your network connection icon, go to support, and then details ...

On the Second computer, just set 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0, set your gateway as 192.168.0.1, and insert the DNS SERVER IP you just found on the Internet server PC.

That is on top of my head, I can confirm that later on today with pics if necessary : JUST ASK !

Hope this can help ... (you never know, some pple may require to have statics IP addresses !!!)

Mate, doesn't ICS do DNS caching so you can set the clients to point to it's IP address as the primary DNS server? Your method works though mate and will probably help someone
