mute error

Got mute error on a 4001n. The box is stuck on tune, booted to eng menu and it says mute error with or without a card, i have tried almost everything! I did a search and all i can see is it being the slot reader and to replace it, but why does it say it without a card? And is there anything else i could try?

PS chips are ok as never been off.

oh and its doing my head in and nearly went in the bin earlier !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :splease

i havent seen a soloution to this yet,and taking crd reader off wont change it(didnt for me) if you pull card in and out of box when in menu do it also say "com error" ???

no, just says the same mute error. how many diff boxes have you tried the card reader removal on? And has n e 1 actually fixed a box by doing this?

only 1,all i can say is ive seen this talked of before and theres been no real soloution? all i can say is pop the top off card reader and check contacts.

i have got 2 4001's working this way,but i have tryed at least 7 :@( got 1 here that comes com error now and again wot does that mean wiz??

dunno m8 i gave up on it

it was that i noticed every time i pulled the card in or out of stb the err changed???

U SOMETIMES GET COM ERR IF U ARE USEING A FUN CARD IF U JUST LEAVE IT IN AND DONT TURN OFF THE BOX IT GOES AWAY AND FOR MUTE ERR I HAD IT ON A BOX I HAD AND TRYED EVERYTHING AND IT STII WOULD NOT WORK

BUT SOMEONE I WAS TALKING TO LAST NIGHT NOES SOMEONE WHO CAN FIX IT SO I WILL LET U KNOW IF I FIND OUT

cheers wiz you got my hopes up LOL only joking i thought you were on to sumin.we need someone that makes these boxes on our side!!they got any jobs going LOL would prove most usefull,there in sweden aint they??? 10mb conections over there (me packs me bag's and heads to the airport)

my 1000 1b has just started doing this when i boot it up it has no chanels and in eng menu it says mute error is there any chance it could be anything to do with the chips being taken out?and when i mess with the card (rom 10)sometimes it goes to o.k...has anyone tried a new card?
my head is like a box of frogs with theese i have 2 with error 3 and now this :censored with mute error ...oh well try try and try again
