i cant belive this has happened now we will have to wait ages for this game. the beta is crap as well. seems like about 20% complete

What did you expect? it is a beta afterall and was never meant for public consumption

The beta is more of a tech preview and i think it's more than impressive

but the beta doesnt even work right for me, i need some settings adjusted

any help on fixing it - heres what i get all the time
(think it might be with shaders)

i was quite impressed though, it runs pretty smooth for me, i just cant see any models or it gives a weird spectrum effect of loads of flat, plain coloured shapes coming from them instead lol

harryb, some of the maps do have missing textures, not sure what map you've loaded there, try the e3_bugbait one and the d1_town ones

i use these params to start and have no probs

hl2.exe -console -dx9 -width 1280 -height 1024 -fullscreen -cl_drawhud -cl_enablehud 1

yeah my settings are the same, but it seems to warp around and stuff all the time

i guess my graphics card is dodgy

must be some graphics driver or setting problem then m8, got a rad9800 here and no probs, and know a couple of guys on 9700's which have no probs either. Running latest omega 3.8's here if that's of any use.

same for me on 9700 pro on CAt 3,7 drivers - it all OK.

Fe_man2000, Catalyst 3.8's are out now - they have the new Overdrive facility on them - this is supposed to maximise performance of your card depending on the temperature it is running at. Might be worth giving these a spin (I will too as soon as I've got a certain game d/loaded...)

maybe a previous driver is still installed from ages ago and causing problems or something, is that possible?

edit - nope, drivers cleared but still does it.. hmmmm
