    Default Bugger, Caught speeding

Bugger, i've been caught speeding. Doing 101mph in a 70mph zone in wales.

No picture has been given by the police they are just asking for the details of the driver at the time.

Please help, i kinda can't afford a fine or to lose my licence.

If this is in the wrong place please move it.

m8, hitting three figures (100+ mph) is risky. Ever since I got my second 3 pointer, max is high 90's and that even at night.

As for advice, best to sign up to speedtrap_bible on yahoogroups. Try to delay the case as much as possible. Send back an unsigned NIP..then when they reply, ask for the photo.

Do you think they would be lenient in my case....
19, Student, Family problems, rushing to get to an important football match, generally consider myself a good driver and beleived to be doing around 80mph at the time.

Probably not but i guess i gotta ask, man im ****ed

I got caught on the A38 near me, the copper said that their rules were 90+ automatic conviction, 100+ automatic court case. They had 2 lots of evidence on me, 94 & 102 mph. They used the 94 evidence & I got a £60 fine & 3 points (just passed the 3 years ago date). If I was going to be given a short ban I expect it would have been a week or so, and of course only if they had took me to court.

I can't see you being 'alright' mate, it's damage limitation time. Drag your heels, like wadgey says.

Hmm, what if i say my mum was driving (20 years and no convictions). Would there be a big difference in the penalties?

As far as i know, over 100 means at least 6 points and usually a ban of some kind. no matter who was driving. if I was u, i'd admit it, take the punishment, then get back driving as fast as u can. get it all done with now, then u'll be back on the road soon.

Yes, but 6 points means having to retake my test too as i've been driving for less than two years. :s

then slow down...... a mate of mine managed to retain his license depite having ending up on 15 pts & have prev done 114 !!! if you dont go down the route of not signing etc then good luck but it usually ends in a ban unless very special circumstances are given etc.... late for a footy match unlikely to be one of them.

Bugger....it doesnt look bright does it. I wont go down the not signing things route cuz that's just silly. Im gonna just take it and hope the courts be lenient (if it does go to court, cuz in the letter there is no mention of it going to court...just asks for the drivers name and address).

Can't you say you sold the car a month ago and sent your part of the V5(or whatever it is) to the DVLA.

You cannot remember the blokes full name and address etc etc but as it was quick sale for much needed cash.

Then, conveniently :whistle , the bloke returned the car a week later as it had a fault and you had to return his cash and am now in possession of said car again :nowords:

I'm sure it can be developed into a better story but its a start
