I have ntl 1mb service in glasgow and i was just wondering what is every1's
average speed is it about 115 kb/s to 125 kb/s if that is so..
i think that speed is total CRAP FOR THE MONEY WE PAY for it...

i think i normally get an average of 120kb/s or 119kb/s never of that i think its not bad since its quiet cheap now about 24 quid i think
If I knew where ill be when I die....I wouldn't go there

what sort of speed were you expecting on a 1mbit connection ?
chris, hope you're not actually expecting 1mb/s?!
Think your getting MegaBytes & Megabits confused mate (nice first post BTW)
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
well i was expecting a lot more than 120kb/s per second
and no iam not getting MEGABYTES AMD MEGABITS confused MATE ???
that speed is about right. can't see what your complaint is
Chris25, stop with the attitude - people come on here to get advice - youv'e only done a couple of posts and you start getting shitty with Pegasus Team, who in case you didn't notice is a Moderator.Originally Posted by chris25
Can you answer hxbro's question, what WERE you expecting 900?? 1000??
Your line-speed of 115-125 is correct - now shut up.

i only asked what every1's speed was like thats all just so i know if that was about the same as mine
sorry for posting a post 2 try and get help
That about sums my thoughts upOriginally Posted by psxgalaxy

Just to clear things up, could you post the results of this speed test:-
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...speedtest.html
Yup, my mate gets 119-125kbps on his 1mbit connection, maxes out at about 140kbps when downloading from a fast server.
Although I agree with...

In the USA, people pay $25 and get 2mbit connections! What is that about?!?!
Oh dear! bits & Bytes rear their heads again.:|
120kb/s is not correct for a 1Mb connection.
You should expect around 950 - 1000kb/s (kilobits per second) which is roughly 120kB/s (kiloBytes per second).
If chris25 is really getting 115 to 125kb/s, then he has a problem.
Posting the results of the above speed test will clear things up.
fossil, I know the difference between bits and bytes... just I didn't know that I had to type a B for bytes and a b for bits.
Sorry, I should have put kB/s for kilobytes instead of kbps.
