Default Advice wnted on what games to buy for mu son

I've just put in an order with baldbouncer for an X-box to give to my 10 year old son from Mr Christmas. I'd like to give him a few games to go with it.

I'm a bit clueless on which games other that FIFA2004 to get, and any (sensible) suggestions would be welcome. Please peeps give me some decent suggestions suitable for a 10 year old who will be upgrading from hil good old psx.

    :nowords:

Wouldnt your son be the best person to ask that m8?

Or maybe newer version of the games he has for the PSX.

my tip is to go for all the games that adults say are crap like Teenage mutant turtle heroes. Everyone on the net said its crap but believe me kids love it .
Ive always found it to be the case that games hardcore gamers call shite are loved by youngsters who they are mainly designed for.

SSX3 is a great snowboarding game that goes down well with all ages too.

Try to mix your genres so he doesnt become board too quickly ie driving, football etc. If your son has brothers and sisters then avoid fighting games like you saw on psx ie Tekken cos they always lead to the little shites beating hell out of each other in reality . (speaking from experience) :whistle

Try buying some xbox games mags with demos with them and leave a little dosh over so in Jan sales if hes seen a game then he can buy it himself.

    Worms 3D
    The Simpsons Hit and Run

anythin related to cartoons shoud go down well, shrek, simpsons, Nickelodion Party Blast, Taz Wanted, Frogger come to mind, im lookin down my list of games and there isnt really that many aimed at young kids, you can always make a dvd of snes/megadrive/mame etc stuff, ive found these have universal appeal

Well a good soccer game.. fif2k4.. a good driving game.. burnout2 or midnite club... a good war/action game medal of honor or castle wolfenstein... also xbox games that are fun... halo .. dead or alive 3... amped... unreal tournament... project gotham racing.. jet set radio future.
all of which have lasting appeal and the majority of the latter are on the classic label which will save you a few pounds

    My 9 year old loves:-

    Kung Foo Chaos
    SSX3
    Simpsons Hit and Run
    &
    Finding Nemo

BYW if you are getting your box from BaldBouncer then I suggest a Blockbusters membership as well

not sure how a 10yr old would get on with medal of honor/wolfenstien/gotham/unreal tour etc, theyre a bit hard and a bit too violent imo.
grabbed by the goolies is a good suggestion tho, kids will love that (i do!)

You mite get good advice from retail stores aswell, i was in the que at game the other day and i noticed a very well informed sales assistant helping some dizzy girl who wanted to play space invaders on her BFs PS2
