Right A friend has downloaded a few ps2 rips from various places...
And they all work fine when he burns them to Cd-r.
The games boot in his machine and in mine...
My problem is when i go to copy the game on my computer it copys fine without a hitch, but wont boot up in my ps2 or in my friends... yet if i copy the disc on his computer it works fine.
as this happen to any of you? any ideas guys?
can it have any thing to do with the speed of the CD-RW? :| :nowords:

What media are you using, PS2's can be fussy about the type of discs they will read, what burning programs, etc are u using?? What speed are you burning the discs at, try burning them at 1x if that doesn't help, then try differant discs and/or a differant burning prog until you get a combination that works.
I find that Verbatim DataLifePlus CD-R's, Prassi Primo or Nero, and burning them at about 8x works perfectly time and time again!
im burning at 8x... my friend burns at 52x... he used clone cd it worked... i used it, it didnt... so maybe it was my media... so i gave him my Blank cd and said try that... he burnt it... it worked...
There is no logical explination for this... any more ideas?
this was happening to me a few months back m8, if i copied on my 8x scsi teac writer they worked fine, but if i done one on my 52x ide liteon it wouldnt work, just went to the memory card screen.
i ended up buying a new writer for other reasons, now it works fine.
try taking your cd writer and put it in his pc and see if you still get the same problem

make sure u are using a clean regged version of clone cd mate,
i think if u used a hacked serial, it will appear to burn fine, but will just end up as a coaster. ( i knwo this was the case with cdrwin, but cant rememeber if its the same with clone cd)
try using nero to backup the game or Prassi Primo/Recordnow.

i was using a hacked clone CD... i'll try nero then...
some of the hacked serials were blacklisted, hence they will appear to work but dont.
other hacked serials worked, not that im supporting hacked serials, if you like it support it and buy it!!
It happened to me a few times with Cdrwin, back in the PSX days.
I can alo confirm that a hacked serial in clone cd can cause coasters - definately.
If your gonna use a hacked serial - disable checking for updates online.
