PC keeps crashing

My PC keeps crashing, I think it's the ram is there any way to test it.

ok, before i can even try and help i need to know the spec of your PC and what operating system you r using.

A-Bit KG7 mobo
Athlon XP 1800 Pro
512 mb pc2100 ram

Hope this helps. What I wanted is a prog to test the memory if there is one.

what version of windows are u using ?
does it crash at random for no reason or when your doing a specific task like burning a CDR or something ?
I'm just thinking it might be the O/S or bad software install.

anyways, there is some memory testing software out there but I don't if it's any good or not. here's a couple links.

I had similar problem, and tried loads of different memory sticks, before I realized that my fan wasn't working properly and PC crashed when it got too warm. Was a bit gutted that processor might be wrecked, but tried a new fan on it and PC now works OK. No long-term damage apparent.

do a google on memtest. it will run on any pc that can boot off cd, regardless of os. it takes a while to run but it tests almost all of your ram unlike most of the progs than run from within windows.
