Default rover alarm system help needed

Can anybody help me. I've a rover 115 but my alarm fob is buggered and doesn't work all of the time. Does anyone know how I can bypass the alarm & immobiliser so I dont need to use the remote. The cars not worth much so don't want to be paying rover prices.
Also where is the alarm situated on these cars.

    Cheers.....jacko

do you have the key code (4 digit no) i'm not sure but this can be entered via the drivers door , should be in your manual but must be done every time you have to start it, best get it to an independant specialist & get a price.

Thanks for the reply m8 but the cars not worth it. I was just gonna try and get through till next year without any hefty bills. I can get another remote from rover but they want just short of £100.
Thought I may be able to bypass the alarm & immobiliser and just use the key.

hi,im an auto electrician and have so many times rang my rover dealer to get the code for various cars, they can give you this from the vin number, although they may want proof (v5?) the code is entered by the drivers door key ie. 3321 would be 3 turns left 3 right and so on, you will only have to do this once, what usualy happens is the immobiliser/alarm kicks in when the battery is disconnected, once you enter the code the alarm will stay off unless its armed with the fob or the battery is disconnected again!, hope this helps,

Most dealers now charge 10 quid for the code number.

Cheers for the replies fellas. It got so bad on monday when I was stuck for 30 minutes in a car park trying to get the immobiliser off. So I have got rid of the car as I wasn't prepared to be ripped off by Rover
The only decent thing about it was the engine. Got £150 for it. :thumbs

    Cheers.....jacko

for anyone else having this problem in the future.

In the front right hand side wheel arch, pull back the covers and theres a plug, unplug it and it disarms the alarm and if iam right de-imobilises the engine.

    use the info wisely
